Székely György: Edward Gordon Craig és Hevesi Sándor levelezése, 1908 -1933 (OSZM, Budapest 1991)
A LEVELEK
4. CRAIG TO HEVESI / CRAIG HEVESIHEZ [Undated / Dátum nélkül] 31 Bedford Street. Strand. My dear Friend Hevesi. I am not in my own house and so I loose [!] things now and then. I am not sure if I have answered your post card. 1 I think you said in that card that you were writing me a letter. But no letter has come. Only a kind post card. I am having a small fight here. The two sides are I versus 30,000. It seems fair enough for me. I make use of the knowledge that in Europe there are a few more of us who care about lovely things and I tell the Public here that there are thousand s of us in Russia, Hungary, Paris, Berlin and the poor fools begin to get nervous. Did you write me a letter? Where to? Please write again and always - I need a word or two now and then. It help s me muc h. . And tell me what you are doing - and how you are - and send me pictures or something to see Remember me in this Gordon Craig P. S. Can you send me soon an y news of your theatre school in Budapest? I have read a page or two in a prospectus. But is there some larger book on it? I must come and see you some day that we can exchange some of the things we have, and besides I want to see you at work! G C NOTES: 1. That card is lost. 2. The request of Craig to get pictures of Hevesi, and the wish to know more about his theatre-school suggests an early date for this letter, somewhere in the middle of 1908. Kedves Barátom Hevesi. Nem a saját házamban vagyok és így néhanapján elveszítek egyes dolgokat. * 20 *
