Este parte integrantă a primului volum (Auspicii - Kezdetek) al proiectatei monografii Napfaragók, I- VIII, Csík­szereda képzőművészei. Lucrarea prezintă, începând din 1872, caracteristicile începuturilor predării desenului şi profesorii de desen calificaţi şi necalificaţi din Miercurea Ciuc. Totodată, folosind surse bibliografice autentice, analizează evoluţia vieţii şi mentalităţii artistice din perioada următoare anului 1920, antiteza dintre percepţia laică şi cea plină de subtilităţi profesionale a vieţii artistice ciucane. Studiul este şi o contribuţie la evaluarea critică a tematicii perioadei cercetate. THE BEGINNING OF ARTISTIC LIFE IN MIERCUREA CIUC (CSÍKSZEREDA) Abstract The present study is part of the first volume named Auspicii - Kezdetek (Auspicii - Beginnings pertaining to the monography Napfaragók, I- VIII, Csík-Szereda képzőművészei [Sunflowers I - VIII. The fine art artists of Miercurea Ciuc), the author’s work in progress. It presents the accessible data about the qualified and unqualified drawing-teachers of the city, respectively the main features of the beginnings of art education starting in 1872. It also draws the attention to the formation of Transylvanian artistic life and mentality after 1920. Furthermore, it reveales the contradictions laying between the laic and professional artistic interpretations of the researched period. The study is founded on reliable bibliographical sources which are submited to critical evaluation from place to place. 288
