RÉSZ THE FLORISTIC LIST OF THE GHIMEŞ-PASS AREA (EAST CARPATHIANS, ROMANIA). PART II. Abstract The first part of the floristic list was published in the annual of the Szekler Museum of Ciuc, A Csíki Székely Múzeum Évkönyve VIL (2011), pages 401-426. The paper is dealing with the floristic diversity of the Ghimeş (Gyimes)-pass area and surroundings, situated in the interregional mountain area of the Olt and Trotuş (Tatros) rivers, in the central part of the East Carpathians. As a result of the author's botanical surveys carried out during the last decades, the present flora of this relatively small and numbered 619 taxa, from which 551 vascular plant taxa, 31 fungi, 23 lichens and 14 musci. The botanical value of this area is emphasised by the presence of protected-, rare and vulnerable species of the Romanian flora like: Carex davalliana, Cypripedium calceolus, Galium lucidum, Gladiolus imbricatus, Goodyera repens, Hepatica transsilvanica, Ligularia glauca, L. sibirica, Lilium martagon, Nigritella rubra, Primula elatior subsp. leucophylla, Pulsatilla patens, Trisetum macrotrichum, Trollius europeaus, Viola joói, Waldsteinia geoides. The biodiversity and the nature value is demonstrated by the presence of about 35 protected taxa at the level of Harghita County, from which can be mentioned: Arnica montana, Centaurea kotschyana, Dentaria glandulosa, Dianthus superbus, Gentiana cruciata, Gentianella ciliata, Geranium macrorrhizum, Monotropa hipopytis, Orthilia secunda, Pseudorchis albida, Pyrola rotundifolia, Ranunculus carpaticus, Salix hastata, Symphytum cordatum, Thlaspi kovatsii, Thesium alpinum, Veratrum nigrum, Viola biflora, Viola declinata, etc. The particularity of mountain hay meadows is expressed by species [Anemone narcissiflora, Hypochoeris uniflora, Trollius europaeus and several orchids) with widespread stands. The relatively high floristic diversity can be put in relation with the traditional land use and landscape protection. 393
