MUNTE ÎN DEPRESIUNEA CIUCULUI Rezumat

Broasca roşie de munte este una dintre cele mai comune specii de amfibieni în Europa, dar nici biologia, nici distribuţia speciei nu sunt bine documentate în România. între 1999 şi 2000 am colectat date despre distribuţia habitatelor de reproducere, şi am numărat pontele acestei specii în Depresiunea Ciucului. Populaţii mari se reproduc în părţile joase ale depresiunii. în perioada studiată, broasca roşie de munte a dispărut din mai multe zone. Cel mai îngrijorător este declinul observat în partea sudică a depresiunii, datorat mai ales desecării zonelor umede şi regularizării râului Olt şi a pârâurilor afluente.

COMMON FROG IN THE CIUC BASIN Abstract

The common frog is one of the most widespread European amphibians, but still neither its biology, nor its distribution is well documented in Romania. Between 1999 and 2010 we collected data about the distribution of breeding habitats and spawn number of this species in the Ciuc Basin (Eastern Carpathians). Large populations breed in the low altitude areas of the basin. In the studied period, the common frog disappeared from several sites. It is particularly worrying the observed heavy decline in the southern part of the basin. The main reason for this is the drainage of wetlands and river/stream regulation.
