Extract: [Wind of changes and old reflexes in the contemporary Románián historiography of Szekler land] At the end of 2004 the book of Liviu BOAR was published in Marosvásárhely Târgu Mureş with the title: Românii din scaunele Ciuc, Giurgeu şi Casin în secolul al XlX-lea. The author has been working as an archivist for almost three décades: between 1978 - 1990 he was the director of the Archives of Csíkszereda, and then director of the Archives of Maros county; he obtained the doctorate degree in 2004. Livu Boar made his researches in order to give an overall picture about the historical, demographical, economic and intellectual life of the local Románián people. He wanted to give beside the results of the archivai researches a historical survey, too. More than half of the book with 409 pages, the text of about 226 pages is förmed of communications, studies related to each other in a simple way. The other part is förmed of the summing in English, the bibliography, and the numerous contemporary documents. It is appraisable the fact that the author studied a specialized literature that forms a small library respectively during his decennial archivai research work he studied a lot of old written sources. In the book we can read about the losing of identity of the Romanians from the county of Csík in the 19* Century, the place of the Church and the school in the life of the Románián community, the effect of ASTRA bank to the intellectual life of the Romanians, respectively the structure of the land-owning in the county of Csík. In researching, presenting the history of the Romanians from Szekler land, thus from the county of Csík, the work of Liviu Boar is a leap forward, from the point of view of its European tone, but this leap forward is only half a leap, because regarding the fundamental questions of the subject, he remained at the centuries old reflexes, stuffy slogans of the old and modem romanian scientists, critics. Rezumat: [Adieri noi, reflexe vechi în istoriografia românească de azi din Secuime] La sfârşitul anului 2004, la Târgu Mureş a ieşit de sub tipar cartea lui Liviu BOAR: Românii din scaunele Ciuc, Giurgeu şi Caşin în secolul al XIX-lea. Autorul activează de aproape trei decenii ca arhivist: între 1978 - 1990 a fost directorul Arhivelor Statului din Miercurea Ciuc, apoi la Târgu Mureş; în 2004 a obţinut titlul de doctor în istorie. Intenţia lui Liviu Boar a fost ca pe baza cercetărilor sale să ofere o imagine cuprinzătoare despre populaţia românească din ţinut, din punct de vedere istoric, demografic, economic şi spiritual. Pe lângă etalarea rezultatelor unei munci de cercetare arhivistică aprofundată, a dorit să prezinte şi o succintă sinteză istoriografică. Mai bine de jumătate din volumul de 409 pagini - adică un material de 226 de pagini - este alcătuit din comunicări şi studii disparate, neavând nici o legătură mai strânsă între ele. Cealaltă secţiune este constituită din rezumatul în limba engleză, bibliografia şi un mare număr de reproduceri ale documentelor epocii.
