perspectives that in 1932 the European Gas and Electric Co. as contractor made worthy to achieve the research rights in Transdanubian. The person, the international acknowledgement and results of the Hungarian geologist recommending the area was very important. After drilling the Budafa anticline which was proved by the Hungarian geo-experts and suggested to wildcat in 1937 the first well was completed producing a lot of oil. The home produced hydrocarbons became important energetic-chemical industrial factors! ( )n this track the modern hydrocarbon recovery technology of this time arrived to the country and a professional organization was generally accepted, a chain of connecting, supporting activities producing extremely good results. Now we remember on the former pioneers with acknowledgements, the predecessors giving life to the home oil industry, the experts from abroad, who created the financial and instrumental basis and place trust in the home researchers, undertook the risk of the expensive activities and - not in the last row - naturalized the modern hydrocarbon recovery. Our predecessors created the home instruction of the oil experts in possession of the home and abroad knowledge on the level of university, technician and skilled workers alike. They naturalized the atmosphere of the knowledge and performance oriented connection, the love of work and discipline. This atmosphere have spanned through the changing processes of the political systems permanently. All these have begun 7 0 years ago. This beginning was a very important factor not only for the despoiled and torn country after the war, but is today, too. It's the spring, the root and example to be followed for the successors up to now, who pay tribute to the memory of the excellent predecessors with respect and ask pardon them, who shared in unjust, unmerited treatment by the rule of that time.
