1939. júliusában kijelölték az első' fúrási pontot - a Hahót-1. számút - a területen, de a körzetben még újabb szeizmikus és torziós-ingás méréseket végeztek. Augusztusban megkezdték Magyarszentmiklósról a Rotary-1. berendezés átszállítását Hahótra, nehéz útviszonyok mellett: Hahót No. 1 A now location, based upon recently completed Seismograph and Torsion Balance calculations, has been selected for the Hahót exploration well and the rotary outfit from Magyarszentmiklós No. 1 will be transported to this new location. Szeptemberi 5-i fúrási helyzetről számol be a jelentés: Hahót No. 1 Spudded in on September 5th and cemented the 14" surface ' casing at 219 ft. (66.8 m)

. After setting casing it was noted that the derrick vibrated due to soft peat bods under its footing, and it was thought advisable to jack up the derrick and place more footing under the substructure. Total depth of hole 219 ft. (66.8 m) 14" surface casing cemented at 219 ft. (66.8 m)

hót No. 1 After mixing a resorve supply of mud, it was attempted to reach bottom and place a cement plug. At 1574 ft. (480 m) circulation was lost and cement pumped in at this depth. The hole bridged above the cement at 918 ft. (280 m) when the drill pipe was pulled and as there was insufficient mud to continue, well was shut down until a reserve of mud could bo mixed. Running in again with the drill pipe, the hole was found to bj bridged at 820 ft. (2 50 ra) and taking fluid rapidly, so cMother cement plug was placed, at this depth. Preparations are boing made to pump mud through the gas line to Hahót from Kerettye, meanwhile mud is being mixod at the well. Good circulation has been established from 918 ft. (280 m), with a loss of only 6 bbls
