MŰHELY - Horányi Éva: Családi ház a Rózsadombon
The most important characteristic of the two-storeyed villa with two apartments and basement apartment for the caretaker is the mass forming based on contradictions. This, with an individual kind of facade is present on other works of the architect as well. The two apartments of the villa have the same plan with a spacious, dividable multifunctioned living-room. The built-in furniture of mobile elements was also planned by the architect. Following World War II the villa was rebuilt: six independent apartments were formed, so the building has lost many of its advantages. One of the apartments was owned by the builder, so elements of the furniture could be saved and the building inspected, so the building could be protected from further changes. Lajos Kozma's principles of house building proved to be useful for the people of our age as well, and the family home in Berkenye road has remained a modern building worth protection.
