MŰHELY - Solymossy Ferenc: Piliscsaba orgonájáról
Ferenc SOLYMOSI ON THE ORGAN OF PILISCSABA The foundation stone of the new church in Piliscsaba was laid in 1778, its consecration took place in 1781. The organ got here three years later but was originally in the Óbuda church of the Clarissans around 1780. It is regularly mentioned in the reports of 19 th century canonica visitationes. In the história domus of the church it was only mentioned that it had been damaged during World War II. but was later restored. In 1966 the organ could be used again. The facade of the late Baroque organ is two-storeyed, with three axes, where the central is higher and convex, and the lateral axes are smaller and concave. The storeys are divided by a rim, the axes by pilaster strips. On the lower part of the facade the central axe was originally convex similarly to the rim. On the upper side in all the three axes organ pipes are to be found. The number of the pipes 11-19-11. The surface between the ends of the pipes and the rims is decorated with tracery ornaments of foliage. The pilaster strips are decorated with carved roses, on the corners of the rim putti with horns are seated. The body of the organ is painted brown, while the decorations white, silver and bronze, like the console. The blowing action is in the room by the choir with a mechanical construction. Its components remained in their original condition, only the interior pipes were damaged slightly as result of untechnical tuning. The large pipes are sounding on the facade. The pipes are placed in "A" form, the largest in the centre and the smaller ones laterally. The organ was transformed by the master József Wurm in 1897, and got a new blowing-action, console and some pipes were replaced. The builder of the original organ, József Herodek, is hardly known. Originating from Neumühl, Moravia, he became citizen of Pest in 1793 and built a lot of organs throughout the country (Pest, Church of the English Ladies, Szarvas, Szekszárd, Jászberény, Grábóc, etc.). His last work was erected in the church of St.Peter and Paul in Óbuda in 1823-24.
