KIÁLLÍTÁS - Lővei Pál: Gótika Szlovéniában

Pál LŐVEI GOTHIC ART IN SLOVENIA In the summer and autumn of 1995 a large-scale exhibition was organized in Ljubljana with the title „Gothic Art in Slovenia". In the scientific preparation several institutions took part, like in the organization: the central exhibition of paintings and sculptures was organized in different place from the architectural or restoration show, or that of dealing with applied arts. This was inevitable, as the large number of objects planned to be exhibited could not have been shown in one place. This division however had the disadvantage if dividing wallpaintings, panel paintings, wooden and stone statues from the buildings, part of which they had been made, and in which they could be found even today. The show of restrained taste never to be seen in sich diversity like here was followed by a catalogue of the objects, the themes of fine art, architecture, applied arts and restoration were published in large volumes each. The first was made in Slovenian-German versions, and the third volume as a bilingual - SlovenianEnglish - one. The architectural exhibition gave the picture of a comparatively fortunate country, struck less by wars, rich in medieval monuments, and it attracted our interest toward the visiting of the undeservedly less known monuments.
