Lilla BENKHARD - BUSI THE IDENTIFICATION OF A DEMOLISHED ROMANESQUE CHURCH LN BÁGYON There is a small size drawing (inv.no. K-30) in the foreign collection of the plans in the National Board of Historical Monuments (disannexed territories following the 1st World War also belong to here). The starting point of the identification was the inscription on this frawing: „The South-East side of the church at Bágyon". At the time of making this drawing, which must be the second half or the end of the 19th century, considering its style, there were three settlements named „Bágyon", two of them in Transylvania, one in the diocese of Vác, in the territory of the present Nógrád county. Comparative research has proved that the drawing is representing the medieval church of the village Kisbágyon in Nógrád county. As the building was pulled down in 1937, the drawing showing its Southern facade, and the similar photo, found not much later are important documents from architectural historical point. The unknown 19th century master referred to the monogram V.B. (LB.?) of the page, made the representations drawn to scale of three other monuments in Nógrád county (Buják; chapel, the fortresses of Ecseg and Szanda) almost at the same period of time. These letters are also in the collection of the National Board of Historical Monuments.
