Buzás Gergely – Laszlovszky József - Papp Szilárd - Szekér György – Szőke Mátyás: A visegrádi ferences kolostor

construction of the Franciscan Monastery of Atyina (Vocin) during the last years of the 15th century, which was partly supported by King Ulászló. The other members of his team working in Visegrád are also likely to have come from the circles of Spiess, including the lesser masters building the vault of the cloister. After the completion of the work in Visegrád, which was during the 1510s, this particular stone carver undertook the reconstruction of several churches in Nógrád County, on the estates of István Werbőczy. A variation of the rib moulding of the cloister of the Visegrád monastery, together with the mason's mark, appears in Alsópetény and Tereske. On the evidence of the similarities both in size and in form, of the plans of the Churches of Nagylóc and Alsópetény, it seems likely that the same master was at work here, too. Following the preliminary studies, the complete restoration of the monastery has been carried out jointly by the King Matthias Museum of Visegrád and the Mediaeval Department of the Eötvös Lóránd University since 1990, inviting the participation of French archaeologists after 1992.
