RESTORATION OF WOODEN CEIUNGS Restoration tasks involve the following: - building structure; - wood restoration technology; - the aesthetic value of the monument. Building structural issues: - heat balance; - high interior relative humidity; - soaking through due to the faults of the framework. The restoration of painted wooden ceilings and furnishings can take place: - in situ; - by dismantling and transporting to a restorer's workshop. Whether the restoration takes place in situ or in a workshop is determined by the condition of the painted surface and the wood. The technological sequence of restoring painted wooden ceilings and furnishings: 1. Cleaning unpainted surfaces 2. Cleaning and protecting painted surfaces 3. Conservation, chemical wood protection a. pest and fungi control, removing and preventive protection, b. strengthening the fractured tissue structure of wood. 4. Drying, resting 5. Adding supplementary materials: a. wood with gluing b. synthetic resin . Should the painted wooden ceiling and furnishings be transported to a restorer's workshop, the technological procedure will also include dismantling and rebuilding. The various chemicals to be applied in the restoration procedures are selected according to requirements.
