MNM ELTE deposit: L 97/28 Cholnoky's first major field trip abroad together with his master, Lajos Lóczy Senior and his students took place in July 1901. After the stations of Kiev, Moscow and St. Petersburg, they travelled towards Viborg, and from there they went on an excursion to the rapids of Imatra. It was during this trip that Cholnoky gained an insight into the wonderful landforms of the surface once covered with ice sheet for the first time. 51. The rapids of Imatra on the Vouksi River.
