Koroknai Ákos – Schlégel Oszkár: A Rimamurány-Salgótarjáni Vasmű és elődvállalatainak vízgazdálkodása 1808-1918. (Vízügyi Történeti Füzetek 11. Budapest, 1978)
Still, the second period was also marked with noteworthy successes, such as the modernisation of water power development at the Andrássy Steel Mills (by means of Ganz power stations), the improvement of „social" plant water supply unrelated to the current production objectives (drinking- and bathing water supply to the plants and housing developments), the facilities affording recreation to the workers (swimmingpools, parks) and reclamation-drainage works of public interest improving the environment. All those showing often little understanding of the difficulties of abating water pollution will appreciate from this paper that the problem is not a recent one, but arised out of the omissions accumulated since the turn of the century. We have to deal with the heritage (or bankrupt's estate) of the capitalist way of production, which was recognized, analysed and condemned more than hundred years ago by the classics of Marxism. Although under the conditions of capitalist society L. Borbély could do little more than to recognize the problems and to show by this examples the ways of solution, he is to be classified on the basis of his activities among the greatest personalities of industrial development (and thus an equal partner of Ganz and Mechwart), and to be remembered as oneof the early pioneers of modern industrial water management in Hungary.
