SOILS OF THE TIHANY PENINSULA AND THEIR ROLE IN SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE
• The soil map is suitable for comparison with other maps. I recommend its comparison with landscaping, botanical and nature conservation maps. • The map which denotes the areas vulnerable to negative affects from agricultural use can be used for reference by farmers, but conservation authorities and by local authorities. • The soils of the Tihany Peninsula are so valuable that they deserve not only protection against soil degradation, but as individual, natural formations they should enjoy protection and publicity. I recommend that these unique and typical soils are put under official protection and their value promulgated.
