FUTÓ JÁNOS: A Csatár-hegyi barlang üledékei II.

Summary Sediments of the Csatár-Hill-cave II. - Sediments discovered between 1998-1999 from the continuous research of the cave and their layering conditions are published in this paper. An about 1,5 m thick cave laminite assise has been recognised. In this some millimetre thick red, yellow and sometimes black rock flour layers can be found alternately. The green clay layers appear downwards the half of the formation and they get thicker and thicker. The laminite structure gradually turns into yellowish green clay which contains concretions. In the new hall a nearly 1 m thick dolomite conglomerate of loose structure and scrumbling origin lies. At the lower part of this, the rock pieces can be found interbedded into small amount of yellow clay. Under this with quick change, also aim thick, but red clay comes with slide, uneven surface. Dozens of slightly flattened concretions can be found in this; the diameter of some of them is over a half meter. They has been almost grown laterally together during their growth developing a merged, cemented formation. Their development is not completely clarified. The water coming down into the cave supposedly dams back on the yellowish clay settling under the concretions; its solved calcium carbonate content precipitates and cements the loose conglomerate. The sediment dries out until the next inflow therefore the structure of the concretions will be septarious. The rhythmically repeated phenomenon is supposedly in connection with the laminite sedimentation. Traces of slipping inside the clay and the strongly curved layer-borders refer to translocation of sediment-accumulation in a lower level of the cave. The phenomenon ensures place for new deposits arriving from outside.
