Summary Noctuids fauna of Balatonhenye and its surroundings - Klaus Kempas, a German lepidopterologist carried out faunistical investigation on the noctuids fauna of the Bakony Mountains between the years of 1993-2000. However, his unexpected death kept him back from publishing the results of his researchwork so one of his Hungarian colleagues summarized his results. The centre of his fieldwork was at Balatonhenye and its surroundings near Lake Balaton region in Hungary. He collected mainly by the light of 400 W HGLI bulb but often used sugaring methods for attracting noctuids. The total of 298 noctuids species were recorded in the Balaton-felvidéki National Park. This paper gives a list of the recorded species with locality and date of rare species. Short characterisation of the protected and the rare species are also given from faunistical and zoogeographical point of view. It is the second time for Crypsedra gemmea to be collected in Hungary. After fifty years some specimens oîArytrura musculus were recorded in the Hungarian noctuids fauna again. The noctuids community at Balatonhenye and its surrounding is characterised by the fauna elements associated with thermophilous, dry oak forest, Turkey oak forest and white oak forest. Besides, several species can be related to habitat type of dolomite steppe. The characteristic species recorded in karsts scrub woodland and dolomite steppe mosaics are Euxoa aquilina, Agrotis crassa, Chersotis rectangula, Ch. multangula, Mamestra aliéna, Perigrapha icinctum, Calophasia platyptera, Meganephria bimaculasa, Rileyana fovea, Lamprosticta culta, Polymixis polymita, Simyra nervosa, Oxicesta geographica, Dicycla oo, Aegle koerkeritziana, Periphanes delphinii, Calymma communimacula, Eutolia adulatrix. As Lake Balaton is not far from here some hygrophilous species were caught e.g. Archanara geminipuncta, A. dissoluta, Sedina buettneri, Phragmatiphila nexa. Euchalcia consona, Diachrysia chryson, Apamea sicula tallosi, Crypsedra gemmea, Eriopygodes imbecilla belong to the type of submontaneous species living in the peaks and valleys open to north in the Bakony Mountains. Between years of 1993-2000 two very rare and wandering species in Hungary, Noctua interjecta, Trichoplusia ni were found. Noctuids fauna at Balatonhenye and its surrounding is diverse and nine protected species were taken. A kézirat lezárva: 2000. október 16.
