DR. SZEŐKE KÁLMÁN - SZEŐKE LÁSZLÓ - NYIRŐ MIKLÓS: Results of the investigations on the Lepidoptera fauna of the eastern Bakony MTS

Pyrrhia purpurites TR. A Ponto-Mediterranean species, occurs everywhere locally in its distribution /Central Europe-Asia Minor/. The monophagons species strongly connected with his food plant, Dictamnus albus, the larvae feed only the flowers and the seeds of Dictamnus. Sometimes the imagos also can be collected from the flowers of the food plant /observation of Z. Varga/. The habitats of the species in Hungary are dry and warm carstic slopes with bushy forests, the known localities are: Pécs, Szár, Budai Mts: Széchenyihegy /leg. Kovács and Jablonkai, JABLONKAI 1974/, Gödöllő, Pót /S ZA LKA Y 1962/. It was collected by light trap in the Bükk Mts. : Répáshuta, Further localities were published by Uherkovich /Máriagyüd/, HERCZIG-BÜRGES-RONKAY /Rezi, 1981/ and SZEOKE /Csákvár, 1983/. The life strategy of this species was studied by Szőcs /1971/: Nyirő also had success in the breeding of the larvae collected in the Eastern Bakony Mts. /Pajdas-hegy/. Cycnia luctuosa HBN. G. This, in South and Central Europe distibuted species was recorded from Hungary from Pécs and Sümeg /KOVÁCS 1953-56/ by one specimen of each locality,. The latter datum was mentioned - erroneously - as C. sordida Hübner /SZOCS 1968/ but the true sordida have not found in Hungary. Further data of luctuosa are; Csopak, Szentendre, Maglód, Monor /in coll. HNHM, Budapest/. We have only a single male specimen from the Eastern Bakony Mts. /Inota, 10.IV. 1963, leg. Nyirő/. As it seems, this species occurs in Hungary very locally on the warm southern rocky slopes of the Hungarian Middl Mountains. /The species was collected by Herczig and Szeőke in Bulgaria, Kresna in May 1984, too/.
