(COLEOPTERA: TROGIDAE & SCARABAEIDAE) This study contains the treatment of the families Trogidae and Scarabaeidae from the Bakony Mountains. The author examined cca. 8000 specimens of beetles in the Lamellicom collections of the Hungarian Natural History Museum, the Bakony Natural History Museum, Zirc and the most important private collections within the framework of the research program "Natural features of the Bakony Mountains". On the basis of the collections and the data published until 1982 we know 4 Trogida ana 101 Scarabaeida species belonging to 23 genora living in the Bakony Mountains. The study infoias ua about the collecting places, the time of the collecting and the name of the collectors. There is a short description concerning the ecological characteristics of the species. The enclosed maps show the spreading of the species in the Bakony Mountains. In the course of the 20 years within the research program: "Natural features of the Bakcny Mountains" /1962-1982/ two Scarabaeida species were found in the Bakony Mountains: Aphodius nemoralis ER, , Aphodius constans DUFT., which were new on the Hungarian beetle-fauna. The research work has increased the list of i.he fauna with 13 species, that had not been known in the Mountains before. These are the following: Trox sabulosus /I./, Geotrupes stercorarius L. , Colobopterus fossor /L./, Colobopterus haemorrhoidalis /L. /, Aphodius ater /DE GEER/, Aphodius Borealis GYLL. , Aphodius putridus /HERBST/ Aphodius arenarius /0L. /, Aphodius maculatus STURM, Aphodius Laeviceps REY, Aphodius thermicola STURM, ScarabaeuF semipunctatuB /F,/, Scarabaeus pius /ILL./. The species Typhoeus typhoeus L. in the list of the fauna should be cancelled since it does not exist either in the Bakony Mountains or in the Carpatian Basin.
