meant the main means of restoring the communist party power. The internments and criminal suits became mass-scale from March 1957 and they served the punishment of the participants in the first place, thus in Somogy county more than 800 people suffered some punitive proceedings. More than 400 were sentenced to imprisonment. The study presents the scale of the punitive measures in details, the different categories of punishment, the social composition of the punished people. The collection of personal data contains the most important information on 806 people: their age, place of residence, occupation, the reasons/pretexts and the degree of their punishment, based on the knowlegde according to the present state of the research.
