RÉSUMÉ Iván Borsa: The internationally known mediaevalist has contributed studies to our yearbooks several times. His new work titled To the history of the family Kerhen, who originated in Gorbonok and later in Belosovec is being published in this book. Idahoration of the medieval records of the family archives reveal this era of the Trans-Drava region. We can trace all the important representatives of the family, and a number of data with reference to economic history, the law of property and to the history of politics are also represented in the documents. A genealogical chart has also been added to the study. Péter Dombi-Klára T. Mérey: Some economic-historical features of the settlements in southern transdanubia in the middle of the 19th century. The study is a joint-venture of a historian and a matematician. The authors have examined The Geographical Dictionary of Hungary by Elek Fényes, which was published in 1851 rich in statistical data and The Description of Hungary published in 1865-66 by the same author, which is also important for history and statistical history. The examination was performed with the help of computers. The relation between settlement types and population, and also landed property, market conditions and postal regions were examined. The second part of this study will come out in the Yearbook for 1992. Judit Knézy: Chapters from the material culture of four i lllages in the region of Nagyberek itt the county of Somogy describes Nagyberek before being drained and the way people worked here. The furniture of the houses and the way of life are also discussed in details. The pictures show how peasants built their houses in the 19 th century. The description of the rooms and that of household utensils is manysided and colourful. The second part of the study is coming out in the Yearbook for 1992. Sándor Bősze. The anti-semitic riots of 1883 in Somogy describes the wave of violence that spread out nationwide after the lawsuit in Tiszaeszlár. It took place in the county of Southern Transdanubia where the percent of Jewish population was the highest. The first part gives the general background including the birth of political antisemitism in Hungary. Then comes the description of the events in the county including a map where they can be followed. Among the mass demonstrations from the beginning of August to the end of October 1882, the most brutal clashes were the ones in Szigetvár and around Csurgó, Gyékényes and Berzence. Ferenc Szili: Emigration from Somogy to Croatia and Slavonia (1850-1880) describes some features of the emigration of population in the 18th and 19th centuries. Then the broad outlines of the effect of the development of agricultural capitalism on the emigration of the peasant population of Somogy are given. We can see how poor peasants and agricultural proletariat left the counties of Baranya, Somogy and Tolna in the first phase of emigration to Slavonia, which began in the 1850. The second part of this study where emigration and settlement problems between 1880 and 1890 are discussed is going to be published in the Yearbook for 1992. László Szita: Secularization of public elementary schools itt the county of Somogy during the period of dualism from some respects of minority politics. The author has already done similar research in the counties of Baranya and Bács-Kiskun.
