Ed. Enciklopédia, 2004. This is the first comprehensive dictionary and reference book of English and Hungarian archaeological terms and expressions with a total of over 2 x 3000 main entries with copious cross references. It embraces principles and theories, sites, cultures, periods, excavation methods and techniques, the vast range of shapes and types of artefacts, materials, and descriptive terms from abandoned to zoomorphic vessek, and abroncs to zsugorított helyzetű temetkezés. With its wide coverage this must prove an ideal companion for the growing number of professional scholars and amateur enthusiasts and a very useful aid for students in fields outside their own specialities. The dictionary focuses especially on Central Europe and the Carpathian Basin, covers common interests of both English and Hungarian archaeologists, and brings together terms related to the archaeological material of the Hungarian Conquest Period. The range of the dictionary is from the early prehistory to specific types of the Late Mediaeval Period. The European Museum of the Year A short summary, written by Tamás Vásárhelyi, can be read about the activity of the European Museum Forum (EMF). One of the awarded museums for the special prize of 2004 was the Terror Háza Múzeum (Terror Museum) Budapest for their innovative exhibition concept and for the attention to the museum visitors.
