FOCUS BUDAPEST European Cultural Heritage Days 2003 150 Years - 150 Art Objects (Zsolnay Ceramics and Creativity) Within the frame of the European Cultural Heritage Days 2003 a tem­porary exhibition will be opened in the main exhibition hall of the Na­tional Office of the Cultural Heritage (Buda Castle, Táncsics M, u. 1). On display are more then 150 Zsol­nay protected art objects from private collections. Curators: Anna Harangi, Márta Terey, Anikó Tomanicz, (art historians, Na­tional Office of the Cultural Heri­tage), Éva Csenkey (art historian, Mu­seum of Applied Arts) and András Csonka (consultant). It can be visited from 16 September until 26 October 2003. NEW TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS BUDAPEST Turn of Centuries, 1800 Museum of Fine Arts It can be visited until 30 November 2003 The exhibition is part of a series, enti­tled the World of the Turn of Centuries, organised by the curators of the Gra­phical Collection of the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest. On display are the works of Antonio Canova, Bertel Thorvaldsen, Jaeques-Louis David, Jean- August-Dominique Ingres, Théodore Géri­cault, Heinrich Fiissli, Thomas Rowlandson, Daniel Chodowiecki, Angelika Kauffmann and Francisco Goya, as a part of the the world famous collection of the Muse­um of Fine Arts around 1800s years. Curator: Andrea Czére art historian. The History of Lace II. - The HUNNIA Lace Museum of Applied Arts Open from 15 August until 16 November 2003 You can read Ms Alice Torday's sum­mary about the Hunnia laces made by Ms Aladár Fáy (1871-1944). She and her family created a special Hun­garian bone-lace type namely the HUNNIA lace and founded a work­shop in Köröstarcsa (in 1936) from the local ladies for the bone-lace making. On display are documents and pieces from the Textile collection and from the Library of Museum of Applied Arts and the laces of Ms Anikó Fáy's private properties.
