Mrs Gergely Kovács Foundation of the Postal and Telecommunication Museum Plan of Operations for 2002 Administration and Budget Tasks • We will revisit the legal basis, founder decrees, and Foundation rules on Foundation administration and budget management, and implement the amendments. • We intend to re-examine the printed forms used by the Foundation and the museums, update them where necessary, and issue instructions on the forms which shall continue to be used. • We plan to continue to re-examine personnel and labour issues, and take necessary measures, including preparing extension-training plans for 2002-2005, which we will present to the board of directors for approval. • We will update and re-organise financial management, particularly regarding cash transactions and management of petty cash. • We intend to retain financial support through grants by working with a bid supervisor and bid organiser. • After planning and investigating the manufacture and distribution of museum gift items, we plan to involve certain post offices in the sales effort. • We will be surveying the condition of the buildings and portions of buildings used by the Foundation free-of-charge, and making a list of the operations needed for maintenance. Collections-Related Work • The museums will prepare accurate lists of the artefacts and documents stored in warehouses, which will include appraisals of value, in preparation for concluding insurance contracts. The objects in the warehouses that have not yet been inventoried will be inventoried during the first quarter of the year. • The memorabilia related to postal administration within the postal history collection - including the Kisújszállás (E Hungary) furniture on display - will be prepared for restoration, and will be asking restorers to submit bids. • Rural collection routes have to be renewed so that the artefacts and documents of the past 10 years can be added to the museum collections. • A list of merchants who distribute artefacts of the type collected by the museum and of private collectors will be made to facilitate an ongoing relationship. • In addition to beginning computerised processing in the Stamp Museum, we will make a plan of operations to house collections procured through acquisitions. • We will acquire another CD duplicator for the museum to help use process the collection of printed forms. • We will determine the requirements for restoring historical books and albums of photographs. We will prepare a three-year restoration plan to include requests for bids from restorers. 219
