Tasks with the collections The work on the museum collections mainly covers the provision of new stores to protect condition, continuation of the ten-year audited inventory, and simplification of the records. 1. The Stamp Museum returns to the original system of collection handling. 2. Cataloguing, stock-taking and exhibition of stamps received between 1989 and 1994. 3. The commemorative cancelling stamps to be placed in display cabinets. 4. Based on the assessments made in 1997, commencement of conservation of the press- tool collection. 5. Completion of the audited inventory of the telecommunications collection. 6. Audited inventory of the Postal Museum library. 7. Computerization of the records of the Foundation archives and the Postal Museum data collection. 8. Departmentalization of the document collection and formation of new collection records. 9. Completion of work on preserving the condition of the map collection (smoothing, placing in sheaths, etc.) 10. Computerization of the collection of photograph negatives, films and video recordings. 11. Recognition of the Kiásson archive items in the Postal Museum’s collection of postmark stamps and deposit of them where possible. 12. Continuation of the system of declaring objects protected in situ and monitoring of protected objects with the involvement of the directorate concerned. Exhibitions The exhibitions to be held will be connected thematically with the national commemorations for the 150th anniversary of the 1848 war of independence and with specialist historical events. 271
