RECENSIONES 257 June, 2005. Polikárp F. Zakar was sent to Rome for further theological studies on September 6, 1950, when the Flungarian government suppressed the majority of the religious orders in Hungary. He continued his philosophical and theological studies at the Pontifical University of St. Anselm (San Anselmo). From 1960 he started his classes in the University of St. Anselm and six years later, in 1966, he was named 'professor ordinario', moreover, he became collaborator of the Generalate House of the Cistercian Order in Rome. After his degree in canon law, from 1971, he has taught canon law too at the University of St. Anselm and was dean of the Benedictine theological faculty until 1985, when he became the Abbot General of the Cistercian Order. On March 15, 1996 as an elected Abbot of Zirc, he has returned back to Hungary and in 2000, he received Archabbot title from the Holy See. Right Rev. Zakar held the cathedra of the Religious Law in the Pázmány Péter Catholic University (Budapest), Postgraduate Institute of Canon Law. The commemorative volume, which is edited by Prof. Sz. Anselm SZUROMÍ, begins with a 'laudatio' by S. Em. R. Card. Péter Erdő, Primate of Hungary, Archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest. The material of the book divides into two distinct part: I. Ius canonicum; II. Sacra Theologia.
