Abstract

The Code of Canon Law of 1917 was initially raised as a new technique to transmit the traditional discipline. However, it was also an occasion to adapt it to the circumstances of the life of the Church at the beginning of the 20"' century. This article analyzes the codification of the institutions that served for the clergy to help the bishop in the government of the diocese: synod, cathedral chapter and also consultors.
