240 PETER ARTNER As in these cases above we could see, the accused has to prove his non-impu- tability. If he cannot present enough evidence whatever source to raise at least a doubt in the court to show his lack of imputability. he is found guilty, but if he can raise the doubt about the truth of the presumption of his psychical imputa­bility, he may be judged as innocent, or, at least not punishable. In the face of a doubt the presumption remains, and the quest for the truth must continue.
