RECENSIONS 275 through this method he likes to design a crystal clear ecclesiological picture, where we cannot find those polysemantic terms which have already caused many misunderstandings and misinterpretations in the Catholic dogmatic theology. There is no doubt that behind this we can find the pure love of the Church by the Author as a basic motive. It means, that the apologetic method is definitely not the real intention of Gabriel Juhász and not goal of this volume, because on the pages is clearly recognizable the appreciation of the ecumenical movement. As the best example, can be indicated Leo Scheffczyk (12005) - whose dogmatic theological works are highly acknowledged by Juhász - who laid down as one of the best important principles of self-interpretation of the Catholic Church in regard to fix the non-derogated Catholic ecclesiological conviction in order to be capable for a frank and successful ecumenical discussion. Within this work we can find the answers for the same questions in every single chapter, about the people of God; priestly, prophetic service and royal power concerning clerics and laymen; participation from the three “munus” by laymen; finally, problems of equality and inequality regarding the Catholics, Orthodox and those protestant communities which administer the sacrament of baptism validly. The closing topic is a particular analysis of the Church as visible community and her meaning, focusing on the technical term of “subsistit in” (the Church which was erected by Jesus Christ exists in the Catholic Church). The description contains the textual analysis of the Lumen Gentium, the Unitatis Redintegratio, and also the encyclical letter of John Paul II: Ut unum sint. The monograph is ended by an international professional bibliography (177-184). Fr. Thomas Gabriel Juhász who has built his book basically upon philosophical and theological argumentation certainly can enrich the scientific analysis of the ecclesiastical self-interpretation. It is particularly supported by those solid comparative observations which he has done concerning several documents of the Magisterium. In the same time his volume can give serious new data to substantiate, to interpret and to understand the states of faithful in the Church. Szabolcs Anzelm Szuromi, O.Praem. Its most significant reasons are those penalties which
