If on a given topic there happens to be no corresponding material on the part of the Eastern authors, instead of leaving the section empty — and apart from the question mentioned above of comparative studies — we have attempted where possible to point out some important works from Latin authors. These works are useful for stimulating research among Eastern scolars and indeed may even be indispensable in this respect. In the selection of such material we are also attempting to provide at least summary information which may be of interest to those canon lawyers for whom our bibliography is pearhaps their only source of information.
