Thursday, 23rd the traditional service (Divine Liturgy celebrated in the Metropolis of Nea Erithrea) was combined with an excursion to monasteries in the surrounding of Athens in the company of the Metropolitan of Attica. At Pendeli-Monastery the conference-participants felt very honoured by the fact that His Beatitude the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Christodoulos who had already joined the opening ceremonies on Monday evening hosted them for lunch. As usually a detailed report including the most important social events will be published together with the acts of the conference in Kanon. That the conference which turned out a great enrichment for the participants could take place as planned is due to organisational wonders worked by Prof. Spyros Troianos. He had not only to cope with “normal” problems such as growing difficulties with fund-raising but to cope with the fact that the conference centre in Kastri was closed down by the local authorities after the earth-quake only few days before the meeting: Almost everything - conference- rooms as board and lodging for the foreign participants - had to be reorganised within hours in order to be able to pass on the necessary informs in time.
