Instruction to Contributors The manuscript and two copies (also showing details of illustration) should be submitted to Dr. András Gubányi, Zoological Department, Hungarian Natural History Museum, H-1088 Budapest, Baross u. 13. Hungary. Entire manuscripts must be submitted on floppy disk or sent to the E-mail address of the co-editors (gubanyi@zoo.zoo.nhmus.hu)

. Manuscripts must be typewritten double-spaced and written in English or German. English is strongly recommended and manuscripts in other languages may be subject to delays. Manuscripts may be submitted as articles or short communications. Short communications should be prepared without dividing the text into sections. Authors should note that manuscripts containing reports of work which appear to contravene accepted principles of conservation or ethical standards may, in addition to normal review, be referred to members of the Advisory Board for their opinions. The title should be followed by the name and full address of the authors. Articles should have an Abstract not exceeding 250 words and should not contain references; manuscripts in languages other than English should have an English abstract and English translation of the title and the captions to figures and tables. No more than ten Key words should be provided. The Introduction should contain a brief summary of the relevant literature and the reasons for doing the work. The names of genus and species should be underlined. Literature citations should be in chronological order as follows: Elton et al. 1931, Lewis 1968, Lewis and Twigg 1972. If papers by the same author(s) in the same year are cited, they should be distinguished by the letters, a, b, c, etc., eg. Yamaguti (1935a).Where there are more than two authors, only the first should be named, followed by "et. al." Sufficient information should be given in the Material and Methods section to permit reproduction of the experimental or field work. The International System of Units should be used; other units may be given in parentheses when they first appear in the text. Results should be presented conciselyand should not be used for discussion. Discussion should be separated from the Results section (this is the place of identification key in taxonomical revisions). References should be listed in alphabetical order under the first author's name and should refer only to publications cited in the text. For examples of the format to bé used for articles from journals, books and articles from non-serial collective publications, a recent volume of Parasitologia Hungarica should be consulted. The use of small print is preferred, a for short communications, to be marked with a vertical line and a "p." Tables should be submitted camera ready and numbered consecutively with Arabic numbers. After reduction (maximum size 12x19 cm) the size of the table lettering should be at least 3 mm. Footnotes should be indicated by lower-case suffix letters, beginning with an "a" in each table. Illustrations, whether photographs, maps or diagrams, should be numbered consecutively and submitted camera ready on separate pages. Coloured reproductions cannot be published unless the author(s) agree to bear the costs. Line drawings should be submitted as original drawings or photographic prints, original drawings are recommended. They should be drawn clearly in deep-black ink and after reduction (depending on the amount of information), lettering and numbering should not be smaller than 3 mm. Photographs should be submitted as sharp, high contrast glossy prints trimmed at right angles. Half tone drawings must be the originals. A transparent overlay may show the desired lettering, lines or arrows. If dimensions are important a measuring line should be given on the photograph. Captions should be listed on separate pages. Proofs will be sent to the authors only once. Please note that authors are urged to check their proofs carefully before return, since late correction cannot be guaranted for inclusion in the printed journal.Corrections should be limited to typographical errors. The costs of any other changes, involving time-consuming and expensive work, will be charged to author(s). If absolutely necessary, additions may be made at the end of the paper in a "Note added in proof". The co-editors reserve the right to publish manuscripts in any order they think fit (normally chronological). Page charges will be levied on manuscripts. The current charge is 25 USD per page. It is possible to publish an accepted manuscript at the earliest possible date if the author is willing to pay about 30 USD per page; the number of pages in the volume concerned is then enlarged.
