Also found on other varieties of the goat (Capra hircus) in Central Southern and Western Europe, Africa, Asia and North America. * Bovicola neglectus Kéler, 1942; Syn.: Bovicola neglecta Kéler, 1942 - A parasite of the Barbary sheep (Ammotragus lervia Pall.), it was found in a zoo. Bovicola sedecimdecembrii Eichler, 1946 - Found on the European and American bison (Bison bonasus L., B. bison L). There are two subspecies.
