Molinostrongylus tipula (Beneden, 1873) Travassos, 1937, species inquirenda Records: 1. Beneden (1873); 2. Soltys (1959); 3. Andrejko and Skvorzov (1966). Descriptions: 1 (brief, with drawings); 3 (brief without drawings); see also Skrjabin, Shikhobalova and Schulz (1954). Hosts: Myotis daubentoni (1), Vespertilio murinus (1), Nyctalus noctula (1, 2,3). Distribution: Belgium (1); Poland (2); Moldova (3). Comments: The brief original description of males and females (1) and the scarce data on this species (2,3) makes us consider the validity of this species doubtful, hence we regard it as a species inquirenda. Molinostrongylus morosovi Andrejko, Pinchuk and Skvorzov, 1968, nomen nudum syn. Molinostrongylus skrjabini sensu Morosov and Spassky, 1961 Records: 1. Morosov and Spassky (1961); 2. Andrejko, Pinchuk and Skvorzov (1968); 3. Skvorzov (1971b). Descriptions: 1 (drawings of details of distal end of spicules and dorsal ray, and brief remarks). Hosts: Nyctalus noctula (1,3); TV. leisleri (1); Vespertilio murinus (1,3); Myotis daubentoni (1, 3). Distribution: Byelorussia (1). Comments: Morosov and Spassky (1) note that the M skrjabini specimens identified by them are characterized by a dorsal ray which is more deeply divided than those described by Skarbilovitch (1934), and the distal tip of spicules is divided into a wide lateral projection and a very thin medial projection. Andrejko, Pinchuk and Skvorzov (1968) accept that the specimens from Belovezhskaya Pushcha studied by Morosov and Spassky (1) do not correspond to the characters of M skrjabini and belong to a new species, M. morosovi. However, until now no description and morphometric characteristics are available, hence we consider them as nomen nudum. Molinostrongylus omatus (Mönnig, 1927) Travassos, 1937 Records: 1. Mönnig (1927); 2. Lukasiak (1939); 3. Schad, Kuntz and Wells (1960). Descriptions: No descriptions on materials from Europe are available. Hosts: Eptesicus capensis (1); Miniopterus natalensis (1); Miniopterus schreibersi (3); Plecotus auritus (2, 3). Localities: South Africa (type locality) (1); Poland (2); Turkey (3). Comments: This species has been described in South Africa (1). It has been recorded in Turkey (3) and Poland (2). While examining the materials reported earlier from Bulgaria as M omatus (Yanchev and Stoykova, 1973) we identified them as Molinostrongylus panousei (see above). The lack of data on the morphometric characteristics of the materials from Poland and Turkey do not give grounds to accept the record of this species in Europe.
