Plus paste at a dose of 1 mL/10 kg body mass. Eqvalan paste Is a ready-to-use, 1.87% paste formulation of 22, 23-dIhydroavermectin B^a. The syringe contains sufficient paste to treat one 500 kg horse at a recommended dose rate of 200 ^ug ivermectin per kilogram of body mass. We weighed 10 % ofthe horses in different conditions from each treated stud. The other individuals were compared to those horses visually to interpolate to their weights in order to establish the individual dose. To determine the boticidal effectiveness of the drugs we collected larvae from spontaneously excreted faeces of horses at 2-hour intervals for 3 days. To demonstrate the intensity of larva excretion by preparation, the relative freqency of botfly larva excretion was calculated. The results were demonstrated on column diagrams and the method of multiple regression analysis was used for the evaluation. We identified the larvae with the help of GRUNIN's (1953) and ZUMPT's (1965) keys. RESULTS 7166 spontaneously excreted faecal samples were examined after the treatment. From these excrements we collected a total of 5623 Gasterophilus larvae. The species distribution of larvae was the following: G. intestinalis 98.26%, G. pecorum 1.74%. The proportion of L 2 was 7.1%. Strongid Plus treatment Induced the most efficient larval excretion between the 28th and 52nd h. After using Eqvalan the effect occurred between the 50th and 64th h. Figure 1 gives information about the periods of larval excretion ( G. intestinalis and G. pecorum) caused by Strongid Plus and Eqvalan Illustrated on column diagrams. Figure 2 contains information, obtained by multiple regression analysis, about the periods of larva excretion (G. intestinalis , G. pecorum) caused by Strongid Plus and Eqvalan .
