Description: Anterior end oval with four well-developed submedial papillae. Distance between amphids infernales 0. 042-0. 049 mm. Lateral alae present. Female: body length 3. 92 - 4. 96 mm, maximal body width 0.31 mm. Esophagus length 0.32-0.41 mm. Nerve ring, excretory pore and vulva 0.16-0.17 mm, 0.34-0.47 mm, 0.51-0.7 5 mm from anterior end. Tail length 0. 62-0. 65 mm. Eggs measure 0. 115-0. 135x 0. 034-0. 038 mm. Notes: HRISTOVSKI (1979) mentioned this species from three rodent species (Apodemus sylvaticus, Mus musculus and Rattus norvegicus). According to the present state of knowledge in all probability three Syphacia species masqueraded under the name S. obvelata (see QUENTIN, 1971; TENORA and MÉSZÁROS, 1975; GENOV and JANÍEV, 1980). 6. Description: The anterior end is delimited by three lips and four clearly visible submedial papillae. In females distance between amphids 0. 041-0. 044 mm. Lateral alae present. Male: body length 0.75-1.10 mm, maximal body width 0.10-0.13 mm. Esophagus length 0. 130.18 mm. Nerve ring and excretory pore 0. 060-0. 096 mm, 0.15-0.19 mm from anterior end, respectively. Three mamalons are present 0.20-0.30 mm, 0.29-0.46 mm and 0.41-0.62 mm from the anterior end. Tail length 0. 096-0.160 mm. Spicule 0. 050-0. 080 mm, gubernaculum 0.020-0.028 mm long. Female: body length 3.20-4.44 mm, maximum body width 0.25 mm. Length of esophagus 0.31-0.42 mm. Nerve ring, porus excretorius and vulva 0.12-0.14 mm, 0. 35-0. 37 mm, 0. 58-0.70 mm from anterior end, respectively. Tail length 0.60-0. 75 mm. Eggs measure 0.118-0.124x0.034-0.040 mm. 7.
