ABSTRACT. Eleven species of parasitic nematodes from five species of rodents Microtus arvalis, Cricetus cricetus, Apodemus agrárius, A. sylvaticus and Mus musculus are reported from the Vojvodina (Yugoslavia) : Heligmosomoides laevis, H. polygyrus polygyrus, H. travassosi , Syphacia nigeriana, S. obvelata, S. agraria, S. stroma , S. frederici, Aspiculuris tetraptera , Capillaria annu- losa, and Trichocephalus muris. KEY WORDS: parasitic nematodes, rodents, Yugoslavia. Hardly anything is known of the parasitic nematode fauna of the rodents of Yugoslavia. BARUS and DANIEL (1972) reported the occurrence of Syphacia montana Yamaguti, 1943 and Trichocephalus muris (Schrank, 1788) from Microtus arvalis. HRISTOVSKI (1979) found Sy phacia obvelata Rudolphi, 1802 in Apodemus sylvaticus. Mus musculus and Rattus norvegicus. MATERIAL AND METHOD Specimens of the abovementioned species of rodents were collected in the regions of Kikinda, Zombor and Zrenjanin between 1976 and 1980. The nematodes were collected and fixed in 70% alcohol and treated with lactophenol for identification. FAUNISTICS AND TAXONOMY 1. Heligmosomoides laevis (Dujardin, 1845) Host: Microtus arvalis. Location: small intestine. In the next section the data will be presented in the following manner: first the locality (ies), date of collection, collection number, and delimited by a slash, the number of worms found in that specimen.
