ABSTRACT. Nine species of parasites were found in the first specimen of Sorex alpinus for Hungary: Pseudoleucochloridium soricis, Brachylaemus fulvus, Hy menolepis diaphana, H. fodientis, Choanotaenia crassiscolex, Longistriata pseu- dodidas, Capillaria kutori , Doratopsylla dasycnema dasycnema , Ixodes ricinus. KEY WORDS: Sorex alpinus, helminths, fleas, ticks, Hungary. In the course of the research programme "Alpokalja Természeti Képe" (The natural history of the foothills of the Alps), organized by the Directorate of the Museums of Vas County, Szombathely, the first specimen of Sorex alpinus Schinz, 1837 was captured at the Stájerházak in the Kőszeg Mountains on 11 August, 1983 (MÉSZÁROS and DEMETER, 1984, in press). The ecto- and endoparasites of this specimen are given below. TREMATODA Pseudoleucochloridium soricis (Soltys, 1952) Intensity: 5 specimens. Localization: small intestine. Brachylaemus fulvus (Dujardin, 1845) Intensity: 1 specimen. Localization: stomach. CESTODA Hymenolepis diaphana Cholodkowsky, 1906 Intensity: 40 specimens (young worms) . Localization: lower part of small intestine. Hymenolepis fodientis Vaucher, 1971 (?) Intensity: 2 specimens. Localization: small intestine. The two young specimens bear close resemblance to the species H. fodientis in the shape of the cirrus sac and the vesicula seminalis externa. Choanotaenia crassiscolex (Linstow, 1890) Intensity: 4 specimens. Localization: small intestine.
