Dr. Murai Éva szerk.: Parasitologia Hungarica 13. (Budapest, 1980)
Notes BAIN (1966) revised the genus Litomosa York et Maplestone, 192 6. Besides L. fila- ria (Beneden, 1872) and L. chiropterorum Ortlepp, 1932, known from Europe, she described 3 new species: L. beaucournui and L. desportesi Bain, 1966 from Europe and North Africa and L. pu joli Bain, 1966 from Madagascar. It is impossible to outline the geographical distribution and host range of L. beaucournui, as, together with other Litomosa species, it was confounded with L. filaria. One point to rely on is that, as far as known. L. beaucournui parasitizes only Miniopterus and Rhinolophus species. JANCEV and STOIKOVA (1973) give recent records of this species from Bulgaria. Our record represents the first finding of this species in the Iberian Peninsula.
