Syphacia frederici Roman, 1945 (Fig. 14a-c) Hosts: Apodemus flavicollis, A. sylvaticus. - Location: caecum. - Only female specimens were found. At head end the lips are without contours. The well developed lateral alae from cephalic vesicle and almost to tail end in females. Body length 3.9-4. 1 mm, maximum width 0.13 mm. Esophagus length 0.28-0.31 mm. Nerve ring 0. 12 mm , excretory pore 0. 38 mm and vulva 0.67-0.72 mm from head end. Tail length 0.50-0.58 mm. Eggs measurements: 0. 122-0. 126 x 0. 030 mm. S. frederici is a parasite of the Apodemus species (TENORA and MÉSZÁROS, 1975). S. obvelata described by CHIRIAC and HAMAR (1966), POPESCU and BARBU (1971), POPESCU et al. (1974) from the Apodemus species, may well be identical to this species.
