This species has not been previously reported from the territory of Roumania. It is a parasite of all vole species. Morphology and taxonomical position of this species are described in detail by RAUSCH (1977), and TENORA and MURAI (1980, in press). It lives on field-vole type species in the mountains of Europe and in the areas under the climatic influence of the Alps. The specimens from the Mt. Retezat collection are included in the types of the species.
