BARBOUR, FUKUSHIMA, NICHOLS (19 75) Pointed out that the IDT is not sensitive enough for a hydatid cyst to be ruled out on the basis of a negative test. SCHANTZ (1975) Reaffirmed the statements by BARBOUR et al. and pointed out that, at present, no immunodiagnositc test can be used to "rule out" hydatid disease because many cyst carriers do not develop a detectable immune response.
