Dr. Murai Éva szerk.: Parasitologia Hungarica 11. (Budapest, 1978)
One female of this rare species was found on C. glareolus 29 September, 1971 cought in the locality Sopron-Tómalom. Female of Rh. strouhali so far unknown, was described by SMIT (personal communication) after a specimen from Vigántpetend (Com. Veszprém, Hungary). Our specimen of Rh. strouhali was also determined by Dr. F. G. A. M. SMIT, and acknowledgement of his kind contribution is given here. Rhadinopsylla pentacanth a (Rothschild, 1897) The species parasites Microtinae, first of all M. arvalis. It is very rare in Hungary where it was found on A. flavicollis in the locality Sarkadremete (SZABÓ. 1966b). One female was found on Sorex araneus, 3 October, 1971 in the locality Gic, as well as 3 males and 1 female on M. arvalis, 2 October, 1971 also in the locality Gic. Doratopsylla dasycnema dasycnema (Rothschild, 1897) Thirty eigth specimens were found on S. araneus, S. minutus, Crocidura leucodon and C. suaveolens. It occurred most frequently in the locality Sopron-Tómalom. PalaeopsyUa soricis rosickyi Smit, 1960 This subspecies is known as a parasite of Soricidae. It was found on S. araneus, C. leucodon and C. glareolus in the locality Gic and on S. araneus in the locality Sopron-Torn alom. Ctenophthalmus agyrtes bosnicus Wagner, 19 30 This subspecies is found in Hungary to the west of the Danube River. It was the most abundant species in the locality Sopron-Tóm alom, especially on A. flavicollis. It was observed also on C. glareolus and A. sylvaticus, single specimens also on M. arvalis, C. leucodon and S. suaveolens. Ctenophthalmus assimilis assimilis (Taschenberg, 1880) Single specimens of this species were found on C. leucodon, A. flavicollis, A. sylvaticus and C. glareolus. It was absent in the locality Sopron-Tómalom. Ctenophthalmus solutus solutus Jordan et Rothschild, 1920 This species is the most frequent flea on A. flavicollis in all the three localities. It was found also on A. sylvaticus, sporadically on C. suaveolens, C. leucodon, S. araneus, C. glareolus, M. arvalis. Lamella of aedeagus has in some specimens the same form as in the subspecies Ct. solutus siculus Feus, 1959. Peromyscopsylla fallax (Rothschild, 1909) Autumnal species occurring mostly in European mountains. It belongs to the most abundant species in the locality Tómalom, especially on C. glareolus. Some specimens were found also on A. flavicollis, A, sylvaticus and M. arvalis. Sporadically it occurs in other localities: 1 male on A. flavicollis (3 October, 1971, Gic); 1 female on A. sylvaticus (18 August, 1971, Fertőboz). SZABÓ (1969) classified P. fallax as a rare species in Hungary. Nosopsyllus fasciatus (Bosc, 1800) The genus Rattus is reported as the main host of this species, but in some regions, N. fasciatus is scattered elsewhere, especiaUy on Apodemus. In our collections from Hungary it is one of the three most abundant species, ranking third after Ct. solutus and Ct. agyrtes bosnicus. It was found in all three localities on A. flavicollis and A. sylvaticus, sporadically on C. leucodon, C. suaveolens, Glis glis and C. glareolus.
