(1950) and KINSELLA (1967), these specimens were probably not identical with those identified as H. costellatum (Duj. 1845) by DURETTE-DESSET (1968 a). Further difficulties in reviewing the distributional data as well as the range of hosts of this nematode arise from the fact that some authors mention this species as H. halli Schulz, 1926, though H. halli is the junior synonym of H. costellatum . In some works probably H. mixtum Schulz, 1954 is called incorrectly as H. costellatum. Descriptions of these two species and the list of synonyms have been given by DURETTE-DESSET (1968, a; 1971) and TENORA and MÉSZÁROS (1971). In the followings distributional data related to H. costellatum will be reviewed. A question-mark will be found when proper identification of the parasite or host species was impossible on the basis of data presented in the publication referred to. It has been recovered from a single M. arvalis specimen from a locality (Oriszentpéter), where besides field voles also bank voles were abundantly found. - Localization: small intestine. 3. Heligmosomoides Iaevis (Dujardin, 1845); Fig. 3 A-E For distribution in Hungary see the Table and Fig. 1. - Localization: small intestine, - Extensity 6.9%, intensity 1-24 specimens. Rather small sized, spirally coiled helminth with longitudinal cuticular crests (crête) on the whole surface of body. These are stronger at ventral side. Head end surrounded by a vesicle.
