Hung. 10^ 85-89. 1977. ABSTRACT. Two nematode species, Aspiculuris tetraptera (Nitzsch, 1921) and Capillaria muris-sylvatici (Diesing, 1851), are reported for the first time in Norway. Syphacia nigeriana Baylis, 1928 recovered from Microtus oeconomus is a new host record in this territory. During the investigation of the helminth fauna of small rodents in Norway X , parasitic nematodes hitherto unrecorded in this territory have been found (see WIGER et al. , 1976; BARUS et-al. , 1977; TENORA et al. , 1977). Our records contribute to the knowledge of the zoogeographical distribution of these nematodes and reveal some relations between them and their hosts. A description of the material is given where necessary. Material The present study was based on the material recovered after an incomplete helminthological dissection of the following mammals: Apodemus sylvaticus (52 specimens),.Clethrionomys glareolus (742 specimens), Microtus agrestis (47 specimens) and Microtus oeconomus (20 specimens). More detailed data aregiven below. Results 1. Syphacia nigeriana Baylis, 1928 Locality and hosts: Kviteseid (C. glareolus ana M. agrestis), Finse (M. oeconomus); Localization: caecum; Incidence and intensity: C. glareolus 9%, 1-6 specimens, M. agrestis 21%, .1-218 specimens, M. oeconomus 15%, 1-19 specimens. Description: Only females were found. Their morphology conforms to the description published by TENORA and MÉSZÁROS (1975). Body length 4.1-5. 7 mm, width 0. 13-0.15 mm. Esophagus 0.37-0.47 mm long. Nerve ring 0.20 mm, excretory pore 0.47-0.55 mm from anterior end of body. Amphids on head part 0.037-0.040 mm from one another. Vulva 0. 66-0.77 mm from anterior end of body, anus 0.62-0.71 mm from posterior end of body. Eggs 0. 093-0.11 x 0. 027-0. 032 mm. Notes: Originally this species was erroneously identified as Syphacia petrusewiczi Bernard, 1966 in the material from Norway (WIGER et al. , 1976). It was found only in C. glareolus and M. agrestis. However, when studying further worm specimens from C. glareolus and x The work was started during the stay of Assoc. Prof. F. TENORA at the Oslo University (December 1975) and finished during his short stay at the Zoological Department of the Hungarian Natural History Museum in Budapest (December 1976), The field work was supported by the Zoological Institute, University of Oslo and the Norwegian IBP - PT/UM.
