Remarks : The new species in distinguishable from all known congeners by the unusually elongately ciliated hysterosomatic hairs, and the extremely incrassate setae on the tarsi and tibiae of legs II and III. Pygmephorus whitakeri Mahunka, 1973 Locality: Missouri, St. Louis Co., Florissant, 22 March, 1973» G.b. missourensis (1 ex.). MAHUNKA, S. : Ujabb adatok az északamerikai kisemlősökön élő Pygmephorus-íajok (Acari: Tarsonemida) ismeretéhez A szerző ez alkalommal a Geomys bursarius kisemlősről, illetve ennek az USA két államában (Illinois és Missouri) élő alfajairól (G. bursarius illinoensis és G. bursarius missouriensis) gyűjtött Pygmephorusanyagot vizsgált. A vizsgálatra küldött preparátumok 4 faj, köztük egy, a tudományra nézve is új faj egyedeit tartalmazták. Gazdaspecificitás nem volt megállapítható, sőt a korábban már ismert fajokra nézve ez a kisemlős mint új gazdaállat jelentkezett. Reference MHUNKA, S.
