Description of the larval form: Cysts 0«5-0*6 mm, larva 0*3-0-5 mm. Pour suckers of the invaginated scolex are each 70-90 p in diameter .Number of hooks 44-48. Large hooks 30-36 ii, small ones 22-27 p , of a characteristic shape (Pig. 1C). Cysticercus sp ? Intermediate host: Microtus arvalis. - Locality: Jánosháza. Localization: liver .-Extensity and intensity: 1%, 5 specimens. Very young larvae found in small cysts (0.5 mm) imbedded in the hepatic tissue. Scolex with a great number (about 100) of gradually growing pin- or awl-shaped hooklets, situated spirally. Two of the larvae were more developed (hooks 30-90 p.) than the other ones. Pending the discovery of other specimens this larval stage is not exactly identifiable . The arrangement of the hooks resembles that of larvae of the genus Joyeuxiella Puhrmann, 1935. Mesocestoididae Perrier, 1897 Tetrathyridium sp . ? Intermediate host: Clethrionomys glareolus. - Locality: Uzsapuszta. - Localization: body cavity. - Extensity and intensity: 0*3%, 50 specimens. The identification of the larvae, similar to somewhat larger ones described by MURAI (1972) from Apodemus species, was not possible. The measurements of the scolex of the Tetrathyridium larvae, found in Apodemus species, concurred with those of Me- .socestoides lineatus Goeze, 1782. The specimens parasitizing C. glareolus are smaller, of a more stubby shape, hence they probably represent some other Mesocestoides species.
