Parasit. Hung. 6. 1973. Histological Characterization of the Pharynx, Genital Atrium and the Acetabulum of Nematophila grande (Diesing, 1839) (Trematoda, Paramphistomata) Dr. Otto SEY Zoological Department of the Teachers'Training College, Pécs "Histological Characterization of the Pharynx, Genital Atrium and the Acetabulum of Nematophila grande (Diesing, 1839) (Trematoda, Paramphistomata)" - Sey, 0. - Parasit. Hung. 6_. 63-68. 1973. On the basis of histological examinations described by NÄSMARK (1937), it was found that the Amphistomous trematode, Nematophila grande (Diesing, 1839) has a pharynx and a genital atrium of the Nematophila type and an acetabulum of the Pseudochiorchis type. Histological structure of these organs is discussed herein with notes on their affinities. In .1937 NASMARK published his paper on Paramphistomides in which the histological structure of the pharynx, genital atrium and acetabulum was considered as principal diagnostic feature of species. NASMARK's paper gives no information on the species Nematophila grande . A morphological description of this species was given by TRAVASSOS et al. (1969), without histological details of these organs. Specimens of Nematophila grande studied herein, derive from the Hungarian Natural Fistory Museum, Budapest, probably from DADAY's South American collection of the 1900s. Description of the Organs Pharynx As regards structure, it belongs to the group without pharyngeal bulb (NÄSMARK, 1937). Within this group, it resembles the Scleroporum type in having primary pharyngeal sacs and almost
