Remarks. - The species belongs to the "spinosus" alliance, differing from the species relegated therein especially by the chaetotaxy of leg IV. Hair lv' T is ciliate, and the sp iniform seta of the trochanter is also differently shaped than in the related taxa. Pygmephorus whitakeri sp . n . Measurements. - Length: 194-236 p, breadth: 98-116 p.. Habitus. - Body surface strongly punctate. Dorsal side (Pig. 25): Rostral hair not shorter than exobothri­dial hair; opisthosomatic hairs gradually lengthening towards posterior end of body excepting hairs e 2 and f 2 ; hair e 2 spi­nosely incrassate, smooth, hair f 2 minute. Segment H with thin setae, distances between the three pairs of hairs approximately equal; all smooth and simple. Ventral side (Fig. 27): Hairs of epimere 1 shorter than those of epimere 2; setae lc and 2c thicker than the others. Posterior sternal plate with well developed apodemes. Distance between setae 3a and 3b approximately equal. Hair 4b long, approaching posterior edge of body. Legs: Genu of leg I (Fig. 28) with hair Id* G tickened . Tarsus of leg II (Figs. 29-30) hair ld^ ' characteristically and densely ciliate, hair lv" F of femur spiniform, incrassate, ciliate; hair dF also robust.
